Maxine Pigott was born on an island but considers herself a Texan, after spending most of her life in the Lone Star State. After being diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of triple negative breast cancer in her 30’s, andrecovering after a year of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgeries, Maxine decided to put more of her life focus on her personal values, which include being with her family, serving her community, and having a taste for adventure, because YOLO. Nancy Myers is a wife, mother, friend, pharmacist, cancer survivor and is grateful. Nancy’s greatest accomplishment is being a mother to 4 children. Nancy feels it’s difficult to describe the fulfillment that comes from equipping children with resources, giving direction as life happens and knowing when to be quiet because they are now making decisions on their own. Nancy’s children know about the ABC’s of life which are your Attitude, Behavior and Choices because these qualities, she feels, will shape the person who they will become. Nancy has worked in various capacities in the field of pharmacy after earning her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) in 1995, along with her Master in Business Administration (MBA) and Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS). Her greatest joy within pharmacy has come from teaching future pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. The light that shines when they understand pharmacy calculations, primary literature and how to apply the concepts along with pharmacy operations and regulations is fulfilling because they will use the information to help patients and to improve the profession of pharmacy. Finally, Nancy gives back to her community and exposes her children along with others to various cultural and educational opportunities.
